Salmon are not to be taken in the Stanislaus River. This one (if it is truly a salmon) was caught in July. Now that I look at the photo I'm not so sure it was a Salmon. There is Steelhead in the river at that time. I was so excited and tried to get one quick picture and release it with out harm. At the time, it looked like a Salmon and friends were catching Salmon in the same spot.
